Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, With iPads

Illustration for article titled Rockin Around the Christmas Tree, With iPads

Do you know why this holiday season is a special one? Because it's the first year we get the gift of Christmas carols played entirely on tablets! Northpoint Community Church's all-iPad band is already rocking out quite festively.

Here are the carols Northpoint's band played, and the apps they used to play them:

"Carol of the Bells"

DISCUSSION

It's electronic music, so it doesn't bother me either way. It didn't sound that bad, either, they had a lot more "Talent" than previous videos I've seen utilizing music apps.

What I just can't stand are the hipsters who think doing something on an iPad makes them that much cooler. Had they picked up real instruments, no one would give a crap, they'd be another church band, but with iPads, they're national.

It's lame because it's no different than if someone came up on stage with a rockband guitar and proceeded to jam out on 5 buttons and a paddle.
