Dubai’s oil-rich skyline is about to get even more impressive with the addition of the 2,640 foot (800 meter) Burj Tower. Yes, that’s exactly half a mile (or 8/10ths of a kilometer, for math-challenged metric types) of skyscraper, dwarfing Taiwan’s current record holding Taipei 101 (1,671 feet) and making a mockery of the Sears Tower’s 108 floors with a mind-bending 160 floors. What’s gadgety about that? Well, nothing, but it is being built by Samsung, and that makes it worth mentioning by my standards, especially since I’m going to request all our future meetings be held there. (Thanks, Michael!)
