Curved for Enhanced Engagement

If you’re completely new to using a curved monitor, your gut might be telling you that its purely a gimmick. If that is what you are thinking, you could not be more wrong. Curved monitors serve a practical purpose. The display can better match your field of vision than a flatscreen of a similar size would. This leads to better depth perception and feeling more immersed into you game, movie, or spreadsheet while helping to keep distractions at a minimum. The Samsung S3 Essential monitor has a 1800R which is a pretty moderate amount of curve. It’s definitely not flat, but the curve isn’t as pronounced as some of the other curved monitors on the market. It’s a nice in-between for anyone skeptical but curious to try going curved.

This Samsung curved monitor has a FHD resolution of 1080p and a refresh rate of 100Hz. If you’re playing games on your PC, and your PC itself is up to snuff, you’ll be able to comfortably play games at a stable 60fps—keeping things looking smooth with reduced lag and little to no motion blur. Screen settings can also be adjusted to accommodate better color and image contrast which can make it easier to spot opponents hidden in the shadows.

Samsung designed the Essential S3 (S36GD) Series monitor to be able to support long bouts in front of the computer. Thanks to an advanced eye comfort tech certified by TÜV, the amount of blue light emitted is minimized, helping to reduce eye strain. It also has minimal screen flicker which would otherwise result in fatigue.

Connect to the Samsung Essential S3 over your choice of HDMI or D-sub, if you have an older system.
