CNet review of Samsung’s new MiniDV camcorder, the SCD590. Samsung licensed Sony’s Memory Stick technology for saving still photos taken with the camcorder, which is handy, but the most interesting feature of this camera is something called “Make-up” mode. When Make-up mode is switched on, one of four color filters is applied to whatever you’re filming so that only things of that hue are captured in color, while everything else is filmed in black and white. Not a feature I could see using that often, but still it’s kinda cool.
