Samsung’s Pocket PC Phone

Samsung has its own Pocket PC Phone on the way. The SPH-M400 has a 400Mhz processor, a 65,000 color display, and a few features that the other models of Pocket PC Phones lack, like built-in GPS, a TV tuner, and a text-to-speech engine. Comes out in South Korea early next year, no word on when it’ll be out here, but probably not long after.

Looks pretty good, but there’s something else in this article that caught my attention. If you read closely, the article mentions that the SPH-M400 runs the CDMA 2000 1xEvDO network, which is capable of data transmission at up to 2.4 mbps. 2.4 mbps?! That’s three times faster than the DSL line in my apartment. There isn’t a cellular network in the US that even comes close to that. Apparently CDMA 2000 1xEvDO is already in service in South Korea, anyone know what kind of connection speeds users are actually getting on this network? Is this for real?
