SanDisk announced their newest USB 2.0 flash memory drives, including their Cruzer Profile which features an integrated fingerprint sensor to help secure your data. Fingerprint images are maintained on the unit itself and so it requires no additional software to be installed on a client PC to read the data—just swipe your finger and the drive becomes active if you’re authenticated. SanDisk tells us the Cruzer Profile will ship in mid-April and cost about $100 for 512MB, $200 for 1GB. Check their release for more on their other new drives.
