What’s with all the projectors coming out these days? I’m sure this Sanyo LP-Z4, which sports a 7000:1 contrast ratio, has a 1280×720 resolution and supports 1080i/720p with an HDMI plug, will be much sought after on the Guerilla Drive-In scene. I can only hope that the previous generation of home theater projectors are being donated to local schools, home to the A/V geeks who grow up to become gadget Gods. This Sanyo, by the way, also uses TOPAZreal technology—which is a trifecta of motorized iris, automatic lamp control and 10-bit image processing— and runs in near-silence (22db!). Japan-only for now.
