I’m looking for stories of battery failures in portable electronics that had harrowing or perhaps hilarious outcomes. There was the story last year, for example, of an Air Force spotter accidentally calling in friendly fire because a battery died in his GPS and the reboot reset its coordinates. Please let me know if you have or know of any stories like this, for inclusion in an article about battery technology. I would greatly appreciate any help.
