PDA Live is noting that the newest Sharp Zaurus, the SL-6000L, has made it to the US. The Sl-6000L has a 480 by 640 screen, trademark sliding keyboard, integrated WiFi, SDIO, and one USB host, which means external devices like cameras (or even mice) could conceivably be connected to the device. The 400 MHz XScale device runs Qtopia Linux and is available for $699.
I owned the first American-model Zaurus, and while I couldn’t have been happier with its feature set, I did feel many times that I was administrating a tiny server instead of using a handheld to simplify my life. I’m sure the PIM features have gotten more refined in the last year, but be sure you know what you’re getting into.
