It's time for you kiddies to discover a classic. R-Type is a side-scrolling shooter where you play a futuristic space fighter trying to save the world by shooting damn near everything. It's coming to the iPhone.
R-Type on the iPhone is supposed to be 100% true to the original, both in graphics and content. We're a bit worried about the controls but whatever, it's R-Type on the iPhone! Here's some details on the iPhone version:
• Blast off and strike the evil Bydo Empire. Pilot a futuristic fighter, the R-9a "Arrowhead," and attack wave after wave of Bydo baddies in old-school side-shooter style
• Wide variety of different power ups and ship upgrades
• Includes original arcade game features including eight unique levels with 8 different bosses each and three different controls – tilt, touch and virtual D-Pad
• 3 different control modes and multiple difficulty modes
R-Type will be "coming soon" from EA Mobile. Let's re-live the 80's.
