The Register takes a look at the Siemens SX1, the Series 60 Symbian handset with the funky up-the-side keypad. They like well enough, nice looking and all that, but find the joystick to be too sensitive and (surprise of surprises) the keypad hard to use. Even the Nokia 3650, birth control keypad aside, can still be easily used with one hand, but apparently getting to the 1 2 or 3 keys on the SX1 can be a bit of a chore. He does say that, given the choice between the SX1 and the Nokia 6600, he'd opt for the SX1, which is something. The SX1 is a tri-band GSM phone, slated only for the European market at the moment.
