JVC plans to introduce a radio that can automatically slow down speech so that listeners can better hear what’s being said. Not many details available, but most likely these will be radios with some flash memory built-in. Hopefully these radios will able to pause, slow down, or rewind what’s being broadcast. If not, it’d be nice to see someone finally introduce a TiVo for radio – imagine a car radio with a cache so that if you liked the last song you heard you could listen to it again, or listen to the traffic report a second time to make sure you caught all the details.
