Michael Rosenbaum (a.k.a. the ex-Lex Luthor from Smallville) is slated to star in Saved By Zeroes, a 30-minute Syfy comedy about two faded scifi TV stars who must turn to the convention circuit to make a living.

Rosenbaum will star in the series with Jonathan Silverman from Weekend at Bernie’s. They’ll play actors who squandered all their TV dinero and must cash in on their fame at scifi cons. Given that both actors are basically “that guy from [insert career-defining project here],” this sounds like the most cathartic project they could choose. Also, Syfy might want to reconsider the comedy’s name. Sure, Saved By Zeroes might insult the channel’s main demographic, but it could also remind viewers of those mania-inducing Toyota ads.
