So 1,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks Have Been Recalled…

…Will this put you off purchasing one? According to RIM, ” approximately one thousand BlackBerry PlayBook tablets (16 GB) were shipped with an OS build that may result in the devices being unable to properly load software upon initial set-up.”

Their official statement, handed to CrackBerry yesterday, specified that the “majority” of the affected tablets—only the 16GB model, seemingly—”are still in the distribution channel,” so likely haven’t been sold to customers yet.

If you were one of the unlucky ones, you can check the serial number with RIM and get it replaced free of charge. But what I want to know is if this will change any potential buyers’ minds? Certainly it’s not the first product to ever be recalled, but considering reviews were already lacklustre to begin with, I wouldn’t be surprised if people were having second thoughts about buying one. Let us know in the comments below if that sounds like you. [CrackBerry]
