Sony may have killed off the Trinitron CRT displays and said they were going to stop all production of other desktop-display LCDs, but that didn’t stop them from doing exactly the opposite of what said and announce the Luma series of widescreen desktop displays. The Luma series of LCDs will be focused more on the graphic designers and video editors. There will be two different 20-inch models available (LMD-2050W, LMD-2030W) and one 24-inch model (LMD-2450). The LMD-2030W is the video editor’s dream with a kajillion inputs on the back, while the other two models have the standard array of inputs but have other features such as side-by-side video, close captioning, Chroma-Tru color processing and 1080p support. All of these displays will begin shipping in May.
