Sony’s got a new in-car AV Navigation system with a built-in hard drive that produces gorgeous 3D maps in realtime. My Japanese is a little sketchy (or as they say in Japan, “He can neither speak nor read Japanese,”) so I can’t tell you if or when it’ll be hitting the States, but I hope to soon drive around staring at a videogame rendering of my surroundings, pedestrians be damned.
