It’s been five years since Zombieland was released. But Sony’s getting serious about a sequel, hiring a writer and locking down the return of the original director.

According to Deadline, Dave Callahan has been tapped to write Zombieland 2. Callahan’s previous credits include the last Godzilla movie, a rewrite on the upcoming Ant-Man, and Jackpot. It’s apparently his work on Jackpot, an adaptation of a story Swedish crime writer Jo Nesbo described as a “darkly comic tale,” which attracted Sony to him.

While director Ruben Fleischer is set to come back to direct the sequel, the original actors’ deals are still up in the air. Of course Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, and Abigail Breslin are all super-busy these days, so there’s no guarantee any of them will come back.
