Sony has upgraded its Playstation 2/PVR hybrid box, the PSX, launching two new versions, the DESR-7100 (250GB, white) and the DESR-5100 (160GB, white, gray). Although just an incremental release, some changes include an faster CD ripping speed (24x), updated navigation interface, and options to edit your own DVD menus when burning custom discs. Plus you can now copy MP3s directly to the hard drive without converting them into ATRAC. The new PSX versions should be on sale mid-July in Japan.
