Miles Morales is swinging back to the big screen but it’s going to take longer than originally anticipated. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, the third film in the award-winning animated series from Sony, was originally scheduled for a 2204 release. It was then taken off the calendar after its predecessor, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, was released. Well, now, it’s back and will be coming out June 4, 2027.

The news was revealed at the end of a teaser trailer shown at CinemaCon 2025. Pulling back through a wild array of colors and shapes like something out of 2001: A Space Odyssey, we see images and hear words from the previous two films. Near the end, a few quick images from the new film played, including Miles fighting the Prowler, the Spot, and entering a completely black area through a yellow hole.

Here are the first images from the film, beyond just that image above.

Producer Phil Lord, and directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson said that Beyond will be bigger and bolder than the first two films. It’ll feature new styles and innovations and pick up the next second from the end of the previous film.

Basically, they made it clear the long delay was for very good reasons. And we cannot wait.
