In Japan, Microsoft’s flailing Xbox has found its best success in niche markets, like the obsessive, girl-pillow hugging otaku market, and the ‘willing to shell out $200 for a giant robot videogame controller’ market. We may not get the sexy pillows here, but Capcom’s 40-button ‘Steel Battalion’ controller is still big enough to keep us warm at night. While the original game was released a while back, an Xbox Live-enabled sequel has hit the shelves, along with a limited reissue of the table-straining controller. If you have always wanted to pilot a 40-ton vertical tank, but could never find something to take you over that dorky edge, you’ve been given a second chance. [Thanks, Dave!]
