Remember how we said that while the first Percy Jackson movie was kind of a mess, the trailer for the sequel, Sea of Monsters, looked cute? Well, after seeing this new trailer, let us amend that — it looks surprisingly awesome. It may end up a muddled mess, but if so it’ll be an action-packed mess, by the gods.

Now, I haven’t read any of the Percy Jackson books, but as a fan of Greek myths can I personally say that I appreciate any modern young adult take on Zeus, Poseidon et al. focused on kids that are almost exclusively products of extra-marital affairs? It hews surprisingly close to the original myths, and I appreciate that.
