Samsung’s new SyncMaster 172X (SDS) is a hot number, boasting a 12 millisecond response time and some of the thinnest, sexiest casing on an LCD yet. Xbit Labs reviewed it (and four other new Samsung LCDs,) and while they are clearly big fans, they did find some discrepancies between the technical specifications of the 172X and the actual hardware; changes that make the 172X no less of a monitor in general, but perhaps not as suitable for gaming as a 12 millisecond response time would lead you to believe.
