MobilePCMag has a review of that least-sought-after 64-bit laptop, the Tadpole Sparcle. What makes the Sparcle stand out is its insides: a 650Mhz UltraSparc IIi chip running Sun Solaris 9, the enterprise Unix operating system. The clunky laptop isn’t meant for anyone who might casually think of picking up a Sun laptop to play around with; the $6,000 price tag makes this one for Solaris developers only. Still, for what it lacks in features its makes up for in uniqueness. It may be slow and ugly, but it’s not like it has a whole lot of competition.
