Tales From the Crypt has long been difficult to find on streaming, but that’s about to change in a big way. Everyone’s favorite cackling, crumbling, pun-addicted horror host will soon be bringing all seven seasons of his show—which originally ran from 1989 to 1996 on HBO and was based on the 1950s EC Comics series—to Shudder. An adorably macabre announcement video accompanied the news, featuring glimpses of just some of the famous faces who popped up on the show during its heyday.

Does the Crypt Keeper (voiced by the unmistakable John Kassir) make a “shudder” pun? Of course he does!

Brad Pitt, Demi Moore, Michael J. Fox, Catherine O’Hara, Christopher Reeve, Kyle MacLachlan, Joe Pantoliano, Patricia Arquette, Key Huy Quan, Ewan McGregor, Steve Buscemi, Martin Sheen, Joe Pesci, Tim Curry, and so many more pop up in front of the camera; behind the scenes, directorial duties were handled by the likes of Robert Zemeckis, Tobe Hooper, William Friedkin, Mary Lambert, Fred Dekker, Richard Donner, Walter Hill, and more.

The first season of Tales From the Crypt will arrive on Shudder May 1, with the rest dropping every Friday through June 12.

Tales from the Crypt isn’t just a series—it’s a cornerstone of horror storytelling. Becoming its exclusive streaming home is both an honor and a thrill for us at Shudder,” Courtney Thomasma, executive vice president of AMC Global Media’s linear and streaming products, said in a press release. “This is the kind of genre-defining, wonderfully twisted entertainment our members crave, and we’re proud to give the Crypt Keeper a place to cackle once again.”
