From TDK, a new piece of stereo equipment that combines a CD player with a 20GB hard drive. The DA-9000 CDRW Jukebox can rip MP3s from CDs, copy MP3s from a PC and also has a CD burner for making mix CDs of music stored on the hard drive. In these days of 30GB iPods and 60GB Nomad Jukebox Zen portable players, the DA-9000’s 20GB capacity seems rather anachronistic – it should have 80GB, at the very least. And to make matters worse, it connects to a PC only over USB 1.1, there’s no Firewire or USB 2.0, and no way to hook it up to a home network.
