In Japanese cult flick Gore from Outer Space, our heroine is raped by an evil alien – who then regales her with this bizarre song about his galactic powers.
The sequel to another cult fave, Crazy Lips, Gore is about the disintegrating mind of a woman facing the death penalty for killing her daughter. Is she really guilty? Does she really have a daughter at all, or is all of this a plot by singing aliens who are trying to take over Japan? Sasaki Hirohisa’s violent, weird-ass movie is in the tradition of many crazed horror/scifi J-pop and K-pop movies, including classics like Audition and Save the Green Planet.
Like other movies in this genre, Gore has a demented sense of humor that saturates even the most shocking scenes with a slapstick cartoonishness.
