Okay, it's ending may have caused a lot of anger, but on the whole the Battlestar Galactica reboot was pretty great. Its redesign for the Cylons was great, too — but nothing beats the retro-tastic original Cylon design. All the more better then that it's the Classic Battlestar Galactica getting the Funko treatment!
Four figures based on the classic TV show will be released in the ever-growing hive mind mass of toys that is the Funko Pop! Vinyls — the above Cylon Centurion, Commander Adama, Captain Apollo, and Lieutenant Starbuck. Check out the three Colonial officers below:
I get that this is the old-school BSG, but does anyone just want a Funko pop Edward James Olmos now? Not even as Adama. I'll just take Funko EJO, please.
The Cylon is easily the best of the bunch though. The Pop! style seems to work best on non-human characters (or anything that obscures the usual gigantic eyeballs they usually have), and that Cylon is just adorably angry looking. I do wish it was shinier though. I'd by a couple and have an impromptu Cylon disco on my shelf.
The BSG Funko Pops will be out in may, for $10 each.
