The Canadian sky is bursting with colors

This is one of the nicest aurora pictures we’ve seen in ages. Photographer Yuichi Takasaka took this photo at Pontoon Lake in Canada’s Northwest Territories, using just an ordinary Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera.

Takasaka explains, over at Space Weather:

Although there is almost blanc on the surface of the sun right now, we were blessed with hours of repeated Aurora Breakups last night. Cold temp at 0C created mist from Pontoon Lake and made nice mood in the morning.

Check out more of Takasaka’s amazing photography here.
