HP’s the latest PC manufacturer to come out with a supersized laptop. The Compaq Presario 3005US has a 16-inch screen, weighs over 8 pounds, and has a 2GHz Pentium 4 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 40GB hard drive, and CD-RW/DVD combo drive. It’s designed to compete with other 16″ models from Toshiba and Sony, but is going to retail for somewhat less. These bigger laptops strain the notion of portability, but people seem to want them. Will anyone even dare to introduce a laptop with a 17-inch screen?
