Obviously, those huge spaceships in Denis Villeneuve’s Arrival weren’t real. Spaceships aren’t real. But a new VFX video reveals lots of other fake elements in the movie, and you’ll be surprised. Most of them are incredibly subtle and simple. Just like the movie itself.
If we’re to believe this video, featuring the visual effects work of Oblique FX, there are more CG helicopters and tanks in the movie than anything else. Not to mention some very well done set extensions.
Arrival is now in theaters and, if you haven’t seen it, please do. It was our favorite scifi film of the year.
