The Aviationist reports on a new Iranian drone exclusively designed to kill fixed or mobile targets in suicide missions. The name of this remotely controlled kamikaze is Ra’ad 85—aka Thunder.

The Iranian Army commander—Brigadier General Ahmad Reza Pourdastan—claims that this suicide drone “has been produced in various sizes in order to be used against different types of targets, including enemy helicopters.”

How effective Thunder would be for modern targets with advanced defense systems is yet to be seen. What you can see right now is that the drone seems to heavily use duct tape in some parts of its fuselage, especially the nose and gear.
