Monster Roll offers the ultimate giant monster challenge: sushi chefs vs. kaiju from the sea — who wins? A group of sushi chefs in Los Angeles must battle giant fish, squid, and crustaceans from the depths, unleashed by rampant overfishing — and, we suspect, the overuse of mayonaise on nigiri. We are incredibly excited to see this movie, directed by Dan Blank, which looks like it’s got the humor of Korean monster classic The Host, mixed with the “WTF Asian giant monsters in LA” feeling of D-War. Plus, the effects are great!
