The New Google Calendar Sure Is Purty

Illustration for article titled The New Google Calendar Sure Is Purty

It may be too soon to tell quite how you feel about Google+, but let me tell you right now: the new Google Calendar look is love at first sight. Clean, smooth, sparse—it's everything we've ever loved about Google's UI, coming out just at a time when the rest of its properties get more cluttered by the day.

It hasn't rolled out to everyone yet, but to start using the new design just click on "Try the new look" in the upper righthand corner, next to the Settings tab. [Google Calendar]

I can't tell you how happy I am to see Google is finally getting their act together and making all of their products one cohesive user experience.

The thing about Google is that all they have to do is get you hooked on one product (i.e.... Google Search, Maps, Gmail, etc...) and the rest just become daily necessities. The new map and calendar interface finally makes them seem like a legit service that doesn't just sit around playing with betas all day. I really hope they incorporate the new interface to Gmail soon or at least offer it as a theme.

I can't believe I'm saying this but now that their services are more united, I think I may finally switch over to an Android phone and forget about Apple. Kudos Google!
