First revealed at San Diego Comic-Con a few weeks back, yesterday Mattel released some updated photos of the Lion-O figure from its revamped Thundercats line. And as is the trend with re-released toys these days, thanks to improved manufacturing techniques, the new Lion-O eclipses the original ‘80s version in terms of detailing and articulation.
The new figures are actually being made by Four Horsemen Studios, and the photos Mattel released yesterday show off an improved sculpt that’s more accurate to the now classic cartoon.
When available sometime next year (yep, there’s still a bit of a wait for these) the new Thundercats will be sold through the MattyCollector.com website, and will be presumably priced similar to the Masters of the Universe Classics line. [Four Horsemen Studios via Toy News International]
