I love scenes from movies where someone explains a totally batshit piece of backstory in a completely rational way — especially if there’s infographics. This sequence from Watchers III, which aired on the Sci Fi Channel a few months ago, is an all-time classic, with its great mixture of stock footage and cheesy computer animation explaining how scientists arrived at creating an unstoppable team of a guy in a rubber monster suit and a super-intelligent dog (named Einstein!). I’ve never been able to sit through the first two Dean Koontz-derived Watchers films, but the third one is a timeless classic because of shamelessly pulpy scenes like this.
