So I’ve been running a little slow today as I transfer my workspace over to my new laptop. I decided to take the Mac OS X plunge and picked up a used G4 12 inch Rev. A Powerbook via craigslist. Beside some minor niggles, like my general frustration with touchpads, I’ve found it to be a nice little machine with a surprisingly intuitive operating system. I am curious to see what tips, tools, and tricks you long-term users have to offer to a OS X newbie, so feel free to mail me with any suggestions you might have. I’ve been using FreeBSD for about four years now, which was a big factor in this purchase, but I won’t be leaving behind Windows or Linux for OS X completely, so please spare me any sort of diatribes about the relative merits of various operating systems. I have nothing but love ( and/or equal hate) for all the various PC operating systems.
