Here’s the gimmick behind strange alternate reality movie The Purge — for one special night, all crime is legal. So humans get a chance to purge their terrible needs. Apparently this Purge got rid of all crime and poverty because the movie said so. Don’t think about this premise too hard.
Either way, The Purge happens, and these clips show the movie family of Lena Headey and Ethan Hawke struggling to get through their special night. It swiftly turns into a home invasion movie, but there’s no one to save them. All emergency medical services, news and law enforcement have the night off, to murder or whatever. We kind of love the gimmick, check it out.
The Purge premieres this weekend.
