The first American regional Robocup tournament begins this weekend at Carnegie Mellon today. The Robocup, which has been held every year since 1997, consists of teams of fully-autonomous robots playing each other in soccer. The goal by the year 2050 is to have a team of robots that can play against the human World Cup champions and win. By that point they might have to have a competition to find the one thing left that robots can’t do better than us.
