The Silver Surfer lives in a sewer outside of Belfast

Some days the headlines just write themselves. CCTV in Newtownbreda, Northern Ireland recently capture a solemn, silvery visage hiding in the town’s sewers. The fellows who work in the tunnels have dubbed this head (among many things) “the Silver Surfer.”

Says NI Water field manager Davy Sloan of the eerie head:

NI Water constantly finds inappropriate items dumped down the sewer. Items vary from nappies, wipes, sanitary products and cotton buds which wash into pumping stations and block the pumps […] They also block sewers which often causes internal and external flooding. This time however, the CCTV picked up a spooky face at the end of the tunnel […] We think the image is a result of a combination of the bend in the sewer line and variations in light.

I don’t know about you, but I would read the hell out of a story about Norrin Radd hiding from Galactus in a Belfast suburb’s sanitation tubes.
