This doesn’t look too different from other top-mounted satellite dishes I’ve seen. And who uses these, exactly? Hardcore tailgate party people? Private security outfits working in Iraq? Whoever you are, Raysat has unveiled the Speedray 3000 portable satellite solution. Portable is a fungible term here, as this dish weighs in at 64 pounds. Once your mobile home, SUV or truck is mounted with this, you’re good to go with some Wi-Fi internet and live television broadcasting thanks to the DBS receiver that comes with it. Unfortunately, no price has been set and the Speedray 3000 isn’t due out until the summer of 2006. In the meantime, you could probably just get a power inverter, duct tape a DirecTV dish to the car, and rock an old television in the trunk.
