They say silence is golden, but if Thermaltake’s Silent PurePower fanless power supply is any indication, it’s more of a reddish coppery tone. This could be just the thing for your homebuilt media center, where silence can really count. The reviewer was impressed by it, although it’s not, of course, the only fanless power supply in existence—similarly priced units exist in higher wattages, even. None are manufactured by Thermaltake, though, and it may be worth a little bit of a premium to go with a trusted name in cooling for your fanless power supply. And let’s be honest, the copper fins make it look so much cooler than, say, the CoolMax 480. That’s worth ten or fifteen bucks in and of itself.
