Just a few months until Avengers: Doomsday, and with its release comes plenty of new merch. Those with a collector mindset already know figures for key characters are coming, starting with Doctor Doom. Hot Toys previously announced a figure back at San Diego Comic-Con, but naturally, there’s more than one for you to spend your money on.
At 1/6th scale, the collectible Doom figure puts him in “a tailored ensemble designed for travel and movement without sacrificing regal authority.” The textured hooded cloak comes with bendable wire to allow for posing, and he has interchangeable hands that can help convey his authority or make him look ready to cast magic. (One pair of hands is surrounded by black-and-green krackle effects, and there are green-colored flame effect accessories.)
But maybe you don’t want to own the ruler of Latveria. (Feh, as if anyone could truly own Doom.) Maybe you just want a plain ‘ol guy on your shelf instead. That’s where Steve Rogers comes in, as Hot Toys’ 1/6th scale figure for Chris Evans’ returning hero gives him with a reforged Mjolnir and a jacket to keep him warm this winter. Accessory-wise, it comes with four pairs of interchangeable hands and two pairs of interchangeable arms.
At time of writing, Hot Toys hasn’t revealed how much either Avengers: Doomsday figure will cost. Both will have premium editions, with Steve’s featuring a Sentinel-themed diorama figure base and a life-size metal ring. Doom’s standard figure above will come in a limited supply of 3,000 units in “select markets,” and pre-orders for both figures will open up soon.
