Mozilla has just announced a Developer Preview Phone that will come sporting its new, in-development Firefox OS. It has basic specs, is just for developers and looks... very, very orange.

It features a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen, 1GHz Snapdragon S1 CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, WiFi, and a 3-megapixel camera. Like we say, basic. It will be continually updated with OTA OS updates, and will be carrier-unlocked, so devs can tinker to their heart's content.

There's no word on pricing, but it's scheduled to be available next month. Mercifully, it also comes in white, too. [Geeksphone via Engadget]

Nothing against it, but why? We already have iOS, Android, BB and WP, why does anyone want a Firefox phone? Does it offer anything more.
