Felix Baumgartner’s jump from the edge of space has been cancelled for the day due to high winds. Provided that the weather is all right, it will resume Thursday.

The jump was originally scheduled for 8:30am EST today, but because of bad weather it was postponed until noon and then again until 1:30pm. It was then pushed back another five minutes. But after so many delays and winds of around 17 miles per hour, it was finally nixed.

Baumgartner was set to break many records, chief among them becoming the first man to break the speed of sound outside of a plane. Weather permitting, we’ll see if he can do it in two days.
