I just voted at my polling place in Los Angeles. And as a consequence I might be on a reality TV show called Booty Queens. Why? The sign above was warning people outside that they waived their rights to not be filmed by entering the area.
These kinds of signs are all over LA and most people don’t think much about them. But when you’re going to vote, it seems like this kind of warning, effectively signing away rights to appear on a TV show just by being in the vicinity, shouldn’t be the first thing you encounter.

By entering this area, you hereby grant to AWESTRUCK TV LLC, NSD, LLC (and its successors, affiliates, licensees and assigns) the right but not he obligation to photograph, record and videotape you and to utilize your likeness, voice, actions, appearance and performances in any manner in connection with the production, exhibition, distribution, promotion, publicity, advertising and other exploitation of such internet/television program or any other program or production in any and all media now known or hereafter devised throughout the world in perpetuity without compensation to you and you waive any claims you have in connection therewith.

I spoke with a producer from the show who assured me that the crew has a permit to film there (at La Cienega Park) and that nothing they’re doing is illegal. She said that they weren’t really filming in the direction of the polling place, but instead were filming towards the playground. But it’s easy to see how one might be confused.
