It's the week after Comic-Con, so the Gods of the Longbox are seemingly taking a break this week. In terms of new series, Kelly Sue DeConnick and Dexter Soy kick off a new Captain Marvel series (below) today — "Carol Danvers has a new name, a new mission, and all the power she needs to make her life a living hell" — and Paul Chadwick compiles his Concrete stories from Dark Horse Presents in a single volume:

In three new adventures, the most human of heroes intervenes in a burglary that turns out to be much more, investigates a possible sighting of the aliens who gave him his rocky body, and develops an alternative to the Taser: himself.

For returning books, there are new issues of Batwoman, Before Watchmen: Silk Spectre, Wonder Woman, Fables, The Unwritten, Star Trek/Doctor Who (top image), Saga, Daredevil, Avengers vs. X-Men, Adventure Time, and Dark Horse Presents.

And as far as graphic novels, we have the DC Showcase edition of Rip Hunter: Time Hunter, the hardcover edition of Amazing Spider-Man: Ends of the Earth, and the fourth volume of James Kolchaka's American Elf. As usual, here's the list of everything being released to comic stores tomorrow, and you can find your nearest comic retailer here. Happy reading, gang!
