Choosing between the two sides of the Force is as old a dilemma as Star Wars itself, or if you’re really leaning into the canon, it’s been around since a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. Amazon provided big discounts on two LEGO Star Wars versions of the iconic Millennium Falcon during their Big Spring Sale (yes, there is more than one Falcon, more on that later), and those deals are still going strong now. The LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary collectable model of the version from A New Hope is just $68 after a 20% discount, and the playable LEGO Star Wars Dark Falcon with six minifigures is down to $150 after a 17% price drop.
While the 25th Anniversary model of the much-more familiar Falcon is more of a collector’s item and display item for Star Wars fans 18 and up, the Dark Falcon is a more-interactive fully playable version for kids 10 and up, complete with six minifigures from the upside-down world shown in the Disney+ special LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. With these two Amazon deals still on the table, it begs the question of why not both?

This Piece of Junk?
Luke Skywalker might not have been impressed at first with the Millennium Falcon in A New Hope, but as Han Solo said, she’s got it where it counts, and so does this 25th Anniversary collectable LEGO Star Wars model. It’s an intricately detailed 921-piece version for advanced builders that comes with a display stand and LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary brick.
This displayable version of the Falcon was part of the 25th anniversary celebration of LEGO’s collaboration with Star Wars, and it’s a perfect conversation piece for any proud Star Wars fan. Fully assembled, the 25th Anniversary Falcon is about 9.5 inches long and 7.5 inches deep, and it can be posed on its display stand at a dynamic angle to give it a look of action and adventure — maybe making the Kessel Run or outrunning Imperial TIE Fighters.
Darth Jar-Jar?
Then there is the Dark Falcon, a fever-dream Sith version from the Disney+ special LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. In a galaxy where black is white and white is black, the Falcon is an intimidating black and red, and it comes with six of the most famous Star Wars personalities in reverse: Darth Jar-Jar, Bounty Hunter C-3PO, Darth Dev, Darth Rey, Beach Luke, and Jedi Vader. This Falcon is 1,579 pieces, but it’s one for the kids, because once assembled it’s infinitely playable and interactive, with two spring-loaded shooters, 2 rotating cannons, and panels that flip up to reveal a detailed interior that includes a throne for Darth Jar-Jar, a command center, hyperdrive, bunk beds, entertainment center, and jail cell.
The appeal of hitting both of these Amazon deals — 20% off the LEGO Star Wars 25th Anniversary Millennium Falcon and 17% off the LEGO Star Wars Dark Falcon — is obvious. One for the parents or older sibling, and one for the younger crowd, because Star Wars fandom transcends age.
