Ugreen’s Steam Deck Dock Drops Back to Its All-Time Low, Works With Rog Xbox Ally, Region Go, MacBook, and More

Keeping your tech accessories in the same brand family as the main unit is almost always the best move. But when the official Steam Deck Dock from Valve costs $79 and the UGREEN 6-in-1 shown here costs $32, that’s just about impossible to say no to. This new price is 30% off the regular $46 thanks to a limited-time deal at Amazon. That price gap alone would justify a look, but the UGREEN’s specs go far beyond what you’d expect from a budget dock.

The centerpiece selling point is HDMI 2.1, which supports up to 4K at 120Hz along with VRR, FreeSync, and G-Sync. Most docks in this price range deliver HDMI 2.0 and top out at 4K@60Hz. The jump to 120Hz matters specifically for handheld gaming, where smooth motion on a larger display is what makes docked mode feel like a genuine upgrade rather than a compromised one. If your TV or monitor supports VRR, the adaptive sync reduces screen tearing without capping your frame rate, which is a meaningful improvement in fast-paced games.

Powered Up, Wired In

Power delivery comes in at 100W PD 3.0, with 85W going to the host device and the remainder sustaining the dock itself. On a Steam Deck running demanding titles, keeping 85W flowing means the battery stays charged during play rather than slowly draining. The dock also includes built-in TVS, ESD, and over-current protection, which is the kind of techie specification that glazes over your eyes until you’ve dealt with a cheap dock frying a USB-C port.

The UGREEN dock’s connectivity covers two USB-A 3.0 ports and one USB-C 3.0 data port, all running at 5Gbps. The addition of a Gigabit Ethernet port is the one that matters most for online gaming: a wired connection on a handheld that’s normally wireless-only stabilizes latency in ways a good Wi-Fi connection still can’t fully replicate, particularly in competitive games where jitter compounds across long sessions.

Abundantly Portable

The UGREEN dock uses a foldable stand made from aluminum alloy and PC+ABS, which gives it enough heft to hold a handheld stable while remaining light enough to throw in a bag. The folding mechanism keeps the footprint small on a desk when it’s in use, and collapses flat for travel. It’s plug-and-play across Windows, macOS, Linux, and SteamOS with no drivers required, which matters for Steam Deck specifically since the SteamOS environment doesn’t always cooperate with driver-dependent accessories. The one compatibility note worth flagging: This dock doesn’t work with the Nintendo Switch 2.

At $32 — a full $47 below the price of Valve’s official Steam Deck dock — the UGREEN 6-in-1 makes a compelling case for anyone running a Steam Deck, ROG Ally, ROG Xbox Ally, or similar handheld who wants to use docked mode more seriously. HDMI 2.1 with 4K@120Hz and VRR at this price is unusual, and the 100W PD and Gigabit Ethernet fill in the two biggest gaps that make budget docks frustrating.
