ViewSonic has a new tablet PC which claims to be the first with integrated 802.11g WiFi, as well as the ‘lightest convertible PC with a 12-inch screen.’ There’s also something incredibly cheap looking about that bumpy ridge at the bottom. It makes the V1250S look like it’s made out of plastic instead of a slab of hand-polished Peruvian slate. Who would buy an electronic gadget made out of plastic? Next they’ll be trying to shill a keyboard that isn’t encrusted with rubies.
Reader Steve Griffin points out that he’s had a Fujitsu Lifebook with 802.11g for months. Upon further inspection it appears the V1250S is the first with Intel’s latest Centrino chipset. Tricky.
