We first mentioned the forthcoming ViewSonic Xtreme line of fast-response LCD displays about six weeks ago. While they won’t be available for a month or two, HardwareZone has a review of the 19-inch, 4ms-response time VX924 and gives it high ratings. Minus some expected shortcomings in color fidelity, (expected, if not welcome, in a gaming display, versus a professional model) the VX924 performs admirably once in DVI mode. (Using an analog input resulted in some flickering and other general unpleasantries.) For about $500, the VX924 comes highly recommended for gamers and entertainment buffs alike, with a great response time that effectively kills any streaking or other meddlesome performance issues.
